CONTINUING THE LEGACY
OF THE ELEVENTH EDITION OF
THE ENCYCLOPEDIA BRITANNICA

The legacy of the 11th Edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica was continued in the publication of three supplements in 1922, and finally, three more supplements in 1926. The 1922 supplements plus the 1926 supplements complete the unique legacy of the editorial spirit of the 11th edition.

Articles of the Twelfth and Thirteenth Editions were designed in a uniformly singular editorial policy integrated into the original articles of the Eleventh Edition. These Supplements are therefore extensions of the Eleventh Edition and the supplementary articles are linked by unique keys and references back to the Eleventh Edition itself.
